Scouts On The Water
15/05/2022 By Simon Baldwin

Our Scouts thoroughly enjoyed a day of water activities with First Luton Sea Scouts at the Luton Hoo. 28 Scouts attended and had a go at rowing, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking and raft building. A day full of adventure and fun (and tired Scouts at the end!) which a huge range of different activities to have a go at (and in some cases, get quite wet while doing so).

Scouts worked together in row boats to navigate the lake, and again in small groups in 2-3 person canoes where they had to line their canoes next to each other and swap places. Scouts also tried out Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) on large multi-person paddleboards (although "Jumping In Paddleboarding" might have been more accurate in some cases), and also were shown how to sail accross the lake. Kayaking allowed Scouts to move themselves and control their Kayak around the lake, and then tied together their raft before heading out onto the water with them, hoping their knots would hold together...
